The idea behind "Ekat-tourist"!

I have had the 'eureka' moment of posting photographs (and later, hopefully, some videos) of Ekaterinburg under the series title of "Ekat-tourist"; the idea came to me when I found myself walking my dog in the City centre during a break from my work. As I looked around me I suddenly realised that, due to both my laptop and my iPad having suffered 'technical issues', I had few recorded memories of the city sights.

There is a red line painted on the pavement ("sidewalk" to you Americans!), and if you follow it around the City you should see all the sights that the local 'tourism office' think would interest you - the other benefit to this line, in my opinion, is that in effect it stops you from getting lost! If suddenly you don't recognise your surroundings, don't worry, just find the red line; you can only go in one of two directions, so eventually you should find something that you recognise!

When I first came to live here, in Ekaterinburg, I was a '1-hour', '2-hour', or even '3-hour tourist' - as I had free time, working "split shifts" I would go off walking around and looking at my 'new home'; but, as I mentioned, I lost most of my photos 1 Now that I have started a blog(!) I thought, "well, why not become a tourist again, and share my 'sight-seeing' adventures"!

I hope you enjoy them.
